Mask
-Linda Lee Lyberg
When I fell in love with you
And effective your disguise
I thought you an honest man
I could love forever more
So little did I understand
The deceitful mask you wore
You took my clueless naive heart
Ripped it open and laid it bare
And then you tore our life apart
No feelings did you spare
At last I saw through to the real you
And there was only a sad broken man
A tortured soul who had no clue
Running from himself as fast as he can.

This answers so many questions. Yet it fails to heal the heart.
When somebody brings a baggage theres 95% chance they will dump it on the next person who dare to embrace them.

Very well, indeed😊 Hope you are too☺☺. Your poem made me realise that the experiences I’ve had are part of human nature. Not unique. When I read it, my first thought was…’how did Linda know?’😂
