Goodbye Dad

Of course you’re an artist. You come from a family of artists. I’m an artist, your grandmother was an artist, and so was your grandfather.”My Father

Dad & Me
Dear Friends and Followers-
I received a call this morning that my Dad passed away in his sleep at 9:35CST. I may be indisposed for a few days and since I usually post daily, I wanted you to know.

If you have read any of my stories about my dad, you know he was never much of a constant in my life. That said, I forgave him a long time ago. He was being true to who he was, and that was all. It was nothing personal.
My lovely daughter sent me this photo once I told her about her grandpa. For the first time ever, I noticed the beautiful leather butterfly on his boot. If ever there was an apt description of my dad it’s this:
He floated freely through life, with the wind as his companion. Always free, never encumbered.
I will be watching for you Dad, in my garden- Free as a butterfly.
While I am away, if you’re interested, you can read some of the following stories I wrote about my father. I love him, now and forever. He has been the source of inspiration for much of my writing and I suspect will continue to be, for after all, he told me – YOU ARE AN ARTIST.
They are listed from first to last.

  2. Linda, So sorry about your Dad. So glad you have wonderful memories, even thought things may not have matched someone’s ideal. I dearly loved your line about him so much – He floated freely through life, with the wind as his companion. Always free, never encumbered.. Such tender feelings and understanding.

You are in my thoughts and prayers and we will be patient for your return!
    Hugs,
    Chuck
