Ode To Honey

As I savor with eyes closed
I’m swept into a flowered meadow
Warm skies above, cool grass below
And distant cawing of playful crows
In my mind I’m twirling around
Sweet nectar is music for dance
Feet taking leave of solid ground
Caught in pure honey’s trance
Nothing compares to tasting you
You’re unique and one of a kind
Honey, you chase away the blues
The most luscious elixir I’ll find.

This made me smile right away. Now I’m going in search of some honey. I especially love the second stanza ☺

Nice ode to honey. It does make me think of a flowered meadow. I like how it chases away the blues.

I do like honey… especially together with other things… but sometimes it’s really too sweet for me.

I love it on a hot biscuit with butter, in tea, and I cook with it too.

I love bees! Thank you for what you are doing. They are vital to our ecosystem. I am following you now. And feel free to share my poem if you like. 🙂
