Croon

In crimson dawn’s haloed light
the awakening world fills with song
warblers croon as wrens take flight
to soar among sun swept throngs.

Staring at your shuttered eyes
reposed in a tranquil sleep
dreaming of our passion’s cries
as we made the final leap.

As I ponder the night before
marveling at your prowess
you, the lion with your roar
and me the tempting goddess.

Yet with all your manly power
you bowed in holy reverence
honored my womanly flower
desire with tender deference.

And so my love, I’ll cleave tight to you
day, night, and those remaining hours
you are the sun who chased the blues
from a heart filled with rainy showers.
