Where Earth Meets Sky

The eery xylograph spoke to her
as it jumped from the weathered page
depicting where the sky met earth
for the world was believed flat in this age.
It shows a curious robed missionary
passing through the tiny space
with a staff he was carrying
he slipped into the strangest place.
In this world beyond the heavens
he saw circling clouds, suns, and fires
this curious realm indeed was beckoning
to all his wishes, dreams and desires.
Imagine then how he must have felt
when he slipped through the slender gap
as the real world he knew began to melt
at last his sanity, wavered and snapped.
