The Sound of Flying

tit-1278641_1280.jpg

In my dreams he doesn’t speak yet somehow I hear his words
I know I hurt you when I left but I had no other choice
because you see my love I had to decide, it was you or me.

I didn’t want to be the one to clip your fragile wings
so you could not take flight and I knew if I stayed
I would with a bitter certainty, try.

Then he’s gone with only the silence his words have bestowed
leaving me trembling and lost when the cage in my mind opens,
I spread my perfect wings as a silent breeze takes hold,
lifting me high as though I always knew what I must do.

  1. A beautiful piece Linda. I love the picture as well. It goes so well with your words. Choices to live with the silence can be very difficult. Fly high and touch the sky!
