Should Twilight

Should twilight paint your silhouette in shades of amber and rose
Recollections of past memories in black repose
As I plunge, the cold winds murmuring in despair
There was once the white lucid thought of you and I
Now naught but a broken grey shadow remains
Swimming in the dust specked evening air.

When memories start to slip, to fade… sometimes it is a relief and sometimes very painful.

Wonderful description of a romance no more but still.remembered. Been there, done that. These lines exactly, “where–
There was once the white lucid thought of you and I
Now naught but a broken grey shadow remains.” Ours was a thirteen year marriage that fell apart.
