Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
And words are all that’s left to give for my days on this earth are dwindling
my bones are soft, my body aches, and my sallow flesh is dwindling
So I’ll throw these pages out the window, and profound words I send
Leaving my last legacy in the fearless whispers of the cold unsettling wind

Who knows who might find them or where they might go. nce we write them, they are really their own separate entities, I think.

This feels like a writing a Jisei or death poem… maybe we leave them to the wind.

Maybe that is the best sendoff to our last words. Maybe they will grow wings and be carried to who needs them.

Good job capturing an internal monologue. Those can be difficult, but you really tapped into your narrator and brought forth a unique voice.

A lovely write and it felt liberating not caring where the pages would end up.

Ah – throwing one’s pages out the window sounds like something I might do! One really has to figure out what one wants one’s last legacy to be….a thought provoking poem.

I think the same way, that we leave our words, our poetry, as a legacy, for those who come after to find…….I am hoping my family might read my work one day, lol.

Sherry, they will. I wish my mom had lived long enough to read mine. I like to think she would be so proud of me.

You used the key word- ‘legacy’. That’s what we’re all doing, right? Leaving a legacy 🙂
