First Cherry Blossom

first cherry blossom
dancing in the gentle rain
sweet garden rebirth

first cherry blossom
braving winter’s cutting edge
bursting forth alone

dancing in the gentle rain
petals glistening
spring will follow soon

sweet garden rebirth
watercolors of new growth
lone blue tit trilling

Author’a Note: Chèvrefeuille has challenged us to write a fusion haiku from two of his haiku on the theme of cherry blossom. We are then to create a troiku from our fusion haiku. Below are the two haiku he has given us to work with:

standing naked
in awe of the first cherry blossom
dancing in the garden

on winter’s edge
the first Cherry blossom blooms
rain falls softly
