Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Rising from the fertile earth
planted heirloom seeds
kiss the world hello
with their brilliant green
Basking in the warm sun,
tiny sprouts they are but soon
they will be big and fat
golden crookneck squash with
massive leaves and tender blooms to eat

Love this! Just yesterday I was out in our yard looking over the perennial sprouts that are rising everywhere. I love the new green sprouts of spring.

Yes, so do I! And it is so satisfying to see seeds you planted push forth.

Ah yes, the magic of growing your own food, from seed to crop, from dirt to mouth, and back to dirt again; nicely said.

I would love to have such heirloom seeds… (and the soil to let them sprout)

Yes, I’m trying out soft pots to grow some veggies in. I love to make stuffed squash blossoms, but I never see them around here in markets. So far so good! We shall see- LOL.

Of course you would write a poem about plants rising from the ground. You’re a gardening genius from what I’ve seen in your photos!
This is a lovely poem–and wonderful photos.

At first glance I thought they were hollyhock plants, but I see they’re not. Hope you get a meal out of them 🙂

Isn’t it amazing to see a seed and what a single season creates from it.

To be near the soil, and experience the promise as new sprouts rise is a rejuvenating experience. You’ve depicted it well.

I like the idea of these beauties kissing the world hello! Watching anything grow is inspiring, especially when we plant it ourselves. You really captured that in your quadrille.
