Lonely Eyes
The streets are full of lonely souls yearning to be heard
crying out in empty silence, stumbling on every word
but eyes they say are a true window into every soul,
those empty eyes in pain are devoid of any joy
for life’s anguish takes its bitter toll
And should you take the chance, smile and say hello
would those vacant lonesome eyes at last show
some signs of vibrant life and begin to glow?
