Conversation with the Moon

“A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”  Oscar Wilde

And the Thunder moon whispered to me
I miss your soft lips and adoring eyes
come gaze upon my mercurial light
shimmering in the lonesome night.

Come bask in my cool calm caress,
I’ll share the dreams of our universe
We’ll talk until the pink rose of dawn,
and greet the magnificent vivid sun.

  1. What a wonderful poem! It so fits the quote you have chosen. the vivid sun….I love that. I suppose the moon does miss us. I know I miss the moon when I don’t see it at night. Thank you for writing to my prompt

  2. We are often in such a hurry we forget to dream – perhaps that’s what the moon is there for!

  3. Once I think we thought more of the Moon than we do now. Previously she watched over us at night but now for the more we learn the fewer beliefs centuries old are found to be false and we find ourselves alone.
