Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Only a nick, a tiny scratch
a heart broken in two
it’s easy to mend all the cracks
with a little tape and glue.
But this you should know
about a paper heart,
once it burns, catches fire
love dies, leaving nothing but ash.

Love this, Linda. Such true words. Thankful for my own Phoenix heart, raised back from the ashes so many years ago. Still needs a little tape and glue every now and again, though.

When it comes to hearts, a nick is as traumatic as a crack; on the way to Broken Heart, Alaska. Paper hearts even more so, but after the flames, love goes molten then los incinerato.

Hi Lind
. Wonderful use of the word nick in your piece. Paper turns to ash.
