Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
“Night, which in Autumn seems to fall from the sky so suddenly, chilled us…”
― Jules Barbey d’Aurevilly, The Crimson Curtain
Summer
yields to autumn
in riotous colors
wood thrush gold, crimson red, russet
leaves fall
surrendering to umber earth
as harvest moon shines bright
welcoming cool
evenings

Author’s Note: For fall, I used ‘yields’, and for give I used ‘surrendering.’
Beautiful – here comes fall already!

I’ve always loved Nat King Cole. On this blog he sings Autumn Leaves in French. I have forgotten most of my high school French, but it was still delightful to hear him sing.
