A Peaceful Life

As vivid summer blooms fade
on now withering vines
when autumn’s breeze strolls in
on the cusp of a velvet peach dawn
I cherish these beloved times.

Closing my eyes and taking a deep breath,
Nature’s sounds surround me
as hummingbirds flit here and there
defending their territory in the air
grey thrashers sing a welcome song.

With each day comes a deep sense of grace
filled with the peace of quiet harmony
As I spend each exquisite tranquil day
cherishing the simplicities of life
with grateful humility.

  1. Thank you for posting this poem, I especially like the thought:

“.. cherishing the simplicities of life
with grateful humility.”

which is both true and well-put!
