Cloudless Bluebird Sky

“It was a beautiful bright autumn day, with air like cider and a sky so blue you could drown in it.”

― Diana Gabaldon, Outlander

Under a cloudless bluebird sky
picturesque autumn ambles in
dressed in finest colors
of amber, scarlet, gamboge, and I
anticipating the thrill of cooler weather
dream of nights by a fire sipping red wine
and sharing with you all my dreams
of a life spent cherishing simple things.

  1. Gabaldon can write (and write and write and write) beautifully. I truly believe it is the appreciation of the simple things that makes us “rich”. Spot on!

  2. What a beautiful poem! Those simple things are treasures indeed.

And thank you for reminding me what a good writer Diana Gabaldon is – which has something to do with the success both of her ‘Outlander’ books and the series based on them. (I have read and watched them all so far.)
