Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
And I pray comforting autumn’s light
will keep the smoke grey winter away
brilliant colors dance as swallows take flight
on this brisk cool cornucopia colored day.
But I know too soon winter will come calling
leaving frost on pumpkins, as snow begins falling.

This year has slipped by so quickly, and winter does feel just around the corner. Wonderful write, the colours burst out of this fantastically.

I love the alliteration that explodes in my mouth in the phrase ‘brisk cool cornucopia colored day’ – it sounds like leaves scuffling across the ground. I also love the dancing colours and the wistful tinge in the frost on pumpkins – I too have felt winter on the wind.

brisk cool cornucopia colored day – such a descriptive stanza, I can really see the coulors, smell the autumn. In my mind anyhow, outside most leaves have fallen, and this morning it was cold enough for real winter clothes.

I so agree–love those beautiful colors, but not the cold and dark. I don’t like it being dark so early!
