Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Listen to your heart for it is wise
Forget the brain, for the brain, built to survive
Is willing to sacrifice all~ even love~ to live
But the heart, the tender heart designed to give
Love, for love is the energy thriving
When the breathing slows and the brain is dying
As the feeble beating heart whispers
You ask yourself, how will I be remembered
In my heart, there is but one question as I surrender~
How well did I love?

You are right, the mind/brain will do whatever it takes to survive, even sacrificing love 😦 Your poem resonates with good vibes. Glad to hear your health is doing well ❤

we do need them both, but the rational self might only care for itself… in the end we need them both to be humans.

I saved this piece for it is absolutely gorgeous and is everything when it comes to the mind versus the heart! I love the line “Forget the brain, for the brain, built to survive is willing to sacrifice all-even love-to live”
This line gave me so much clarity, it holds all the truth! Our mind tries to understand love but will never be able to because love just is! Simply gorgeous! ❤️😁🙌
