Strawberry Wine

Your finger left a fragrant trace
of sweet strawberry wine
upon my bruised lips
as you caressed my face
and wiped smeared lipstick away

And though the fragrance lingers
the taste is what I’ll remember
like the first luscious bite
of a sun kissed red ripe berry
after a frosty and lonely winter

When your yearning lips touched mine
stark cold became warm bursting spring
Like a plump velvet peach divine
my cheeks blushed and bloomed,
as your warm tongue lingered within
