#Quadrille: Natural Magic

I awoke before dawn today
because I wanted to see
The exquisite magical sun
coming up in the far east

As our closest star rose up
into a brush-stroked sky
A brilliant sheen illuminated
low drifting clouds
In tangerine shades
surrounding a golden eye

  1. That is so beautiful. I can almost feel the warm glow through the window! Lately I don’t get up early enough to see the sunrise, but where I live it is hard too, I am surrounded by trees!

  2. So beautiful. My daughter is forever posting similar beautiful scenes of sunrise over Mt. Hood in the distance from her bedroom window. Thank you for sharing this reassuring kiss of nature.

  3. This has a real Wordsworth feel to it, with the meter that worms its way into the reading and the unexpected rhyme scheme. And like Wordsworth it begs to be read aloud. Lovely.
