Under the Canopy of the Fruiting Fig

Under the canopy of the fruiting fig

I beckon you to come my sweet

Lie with me on a soft cotton throw

As we gaze at the baby blue sky

Peeking through emerald leaves

And free our dreams to wander

Among wispy dandelion clouds

Let’s cherish this delightful spring day

As it dances lightly on blossom scented air

Let’s savor these perfect moments before

Jackboots of summer fiercely march in

For then there will be no welcome reprieve

From the desert’s scorching sun

  2. O Linda, this is sooo sweetly romantic. True telling, I have never laid down with a girl. Sat down on a blanket, yes. Before I guess, and before for sure I carried THE green blanket in the trunk.
We are talking about playing golf again, starting before those jackboots come to get acclimated for the heat.
