Soul Whispers

“The soul is silent. If it speaks at all it speaks in dreams.” ~ Louise Glück

Soul whispers, speaks to me

Plants a seed in my restless dreams

Seeking solace in darkest night

Tiny pod yearns for healing sun

To sprout, blossom and grow

And become a secret poem

That once exposed to the light

Velvet petals bloom, a beautful red rose

Dressed in splendiferous repose

  2. You’ve captured the whispering in your deft use of sibilance in this poem, Linda, especially in the ending: ‘Dressed in splendiferous repose’.
