Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Shift in
The universe
Change flies in on the wings
Of a Great Horned Owl as he peers
Into
My eyes, a rush of emotion
Escapes into the air
As I honor
This peace

Author‘s Note: This morning I had an amazing encounter with this Great Horned Owl taking a rest on my patio. Owls have deep spiritual meaning and I am so honored to have had a visit.

Linda, so amazing! Sometimes messages are subtle. Not so today. “Change flies in on the wings

I love how nature can bring about these profound moments.
My father put up owl boxes all over the farm to try and encourage nesting. We were lucky enough to have owls in the area so the boxes did get a bit of use.

Excellent encounter and poetic capture. Here in the NW, our native Americans believe that if you hear an owl call your name, it is your death day.

Yes, I’ve read about that.

Ah, Linda, this is so awesome. You have captured the experience so precisely that I feel I was there, too. These words, “a rush of emotion
Escapes into the air
As I honor” are purely a gift. Great photo, too! Did you have to rush off for your camera, and did the owl wait?

Thank you Victoria. I always carry my iPhone with me due to my heart issues in case I need to call for help. So, I used it to take the photo. Thank you!

Wow! That is an amazing close encounter. Wonderful to share it with you too. It is often what makes my day, the unexpected from nature and guess we are blessed when it happens. Lovely to catch up with you and hope all well.

Linda, right after we moved to AZ I had an encounter with a coyote crossing the road in front of us. He looked me right in the eye! I know how these experiences feel—spiritual! You received a precious message. ❤

Yes! And I had another encounter this morning. OMG. This morning I walked out the French doors in the media room to take some trash out and the owl took flight from atop the porch light. I felt the wind from his wings!!! This time he flew north. ❤️

Wow! He is making sure you are reading his messages. https://whatismyspiritanimal.com/spirit-totem-power-animal-meanings/birds/owl-symbolism-meaning/. There are other sites out there as well, but this is the best. Here is a site that talks about the compass points: https://www.symbolic-meanings.com/2008/01/02/symbolism-of-the-compass-meaning-of-the-four-directions/. To feel the wind from his wings must have been magical. You’ll understand his message soon. ❤
