Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
“He who contemplates the depths of Paris is seized with vertigo.
Nothing is more fantastic. Nothing is more tragic.
Nothing is more sublime.”
― Victor Hugo
I’ll never forget our tiny bedroom
Deep in the heart of Paris
A cloud bed filled with pillows of down
Draped in faded covers soft and worn
Where jet lagged sex was the best
A drowsy languorous feast of flesh
Falling asleep, dreaming the dreams of gods
Bread and cheese and red wine flowed
Tall windows muted sounds of the city
While the river Seine below lazily rolled
Red velvet roses wilted on the battered dresser
We counted the days until they would fade away
And so would we, drifting back to reality
But oh! What memories we made
