Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Caught up in life’s slip stream
Pulling me along
Floating on this breeze
Humming a bluesy song
Lord, let me slip away today
Wrapped in your loving arms
Help me find peace and forget
The world and all its poisoned charms
Tempting me wrong

I love your song to time… though today it seems better just to enjoy the day as it is for me.

I think you should put this one to music, Linda, perhaps even write another verse and a refrain!

They say that the lord does not give you more than you are able to bear, but oh how I wonder at times.

Actually your poem allowed me to slip away, thinking about a visit to BB Kings Blues Club a few years ago. I agree that this could be a song.

It does seem as if the world’s gone mad. This is a wistful little number, I can imagine it set to music, it has that kind of flow. Sending love, Linda.

Slip away to where I wonder? That is a big question- and the answer of loving arms is wonderful. strangely- I think those arms must also be wrapped around us in this world somehow? poisoned charms and all? got me thinkin! Love BB!

This poem resonated with me today. BB King’s music is a gift to get lost in and some days I need to get lost in a song. Take care.
