#Haibun: Calling my Angels

Source: Uniguide.com

Today while walking my little dog, I had some company. A large purple dragonfly darted through the air all around me, making sure I caught a glimpse of him/her. This is my first time to see a purple dragonfly here in Arizona and I attach much significance to this.

Yesterday I received some frightening news. I have invasive ductal carcinoma in my left breast and lymph node under my arm, and it is Stage 2. I am now learning more about cancer. I have an appointment some time today to discuss next steps for a treatment plan.I don’t know where this journey will end, but I know my dragonfly sighting is a good omen.

Author’s Note: I looked up the meaning of a purple dragonfly and this is what I found:
If you see a purple dragonfly, you are being called upon to tap into your higher power. Use your mind to connect to this source through prayer or mediation. The purple dragonfly is an exalted symbol, one that asks you to seek out something greater than yourself. You have within you the capability to tap into a higher power and your angels are standing by, waiting for you to reach out and connect with them. The purple dragonfly reminds you that there is more out there, and you are capable of living in an elevated state.- Source Uniguide.com

  1. You are going to be okay but yes, you will learn things you might never wanted to study. Take notes, take a partner or friend with you to also listen and question, and be a partner and ally with your medical team. And keep listening to dragonflies! That’s the first of many positive encounters you will have on the way to a positive outcome.

  2. It’s never good to hear the ‘c’ word, but with new advancements, it’s amazing what they can do. A time to take care of you, I’d say. Am thinking of you.

  3. About half the women I know, including myself, have faced it. Everyone’s experience is their own though. Never hesitate to ask for what you need from friends and family. They will be your support and sustenance.
A dragonfly is always a good omen I find. (K)
