When Night Sky and Fiery Comets Collide

“I like on the table, when we’re speaking,

the light of a bottle of intelligent wine.”- Pablo Neruda

I like for you to be still ~
when pale moonlight undulates
across your tranquil face,
while my lips trace the hot pulsing vein
dancing in glistening flesh
as I kiss your sun ripened skin

I like for you to be still ~
when delicate fingers strum, playing
the haunting strings of lovers entwined
clinging as the morning glory vine
to their fleeting beauty that shimmers
with morning dew then fades in gilded sunshine

I like for you to be still ~
when cobalt night sky and fiery comets collide
as our bodies explode into a swirling nebula
breathing colors into love and birthing dazzling stars
until we fall into blissful sleep as one and dream
