Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
“I like on the table,
when we’re speaking,
the light of a bottle
of intelligent wine.” ― Pablo Neruda
I am the shadow
cast upon the table
by an emerald bottle
of rich ruby wine
veiled in haunting moonlight
ripe with the juice of blackberries
dark as the earth’s terra
I am an enigma cloaked
in a velvet mystery
waiting for discovery
by the exploring touch
of your sensuous tongue
and your lips resting
upon mine

Linda, you sound so mysterious yet filled with passion. I like the taste of ripe with the juice of blackberries and secrets in the dark (as the earth’s terra).
Hope you are feeling vibrant & rested after all the medical appointments. Take care.

Nice Neruda quote as well. I think that you first verse echoes this in that romance engages more than just the physical sense.

Wow, Linda, you’ve captured the essence of a bottle of wine in that shadow! I love the use of colour (the emerald bottle and rich ruby wine), taste (‘ripe with the juice of blackberries’) and touch.

You rocked the prompt choosing non-human first person. It does feel very Neruda, with a touch of e.e. cummings. Continue to heal.
