Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
summer morning shine-
wandering breeze lifting
the brim of my hat
summer afternoon-
scorching waves break still air
cicadas singing
summer evening-
stifling heat as day ends
black ravens take wing
summer midnight-
cool wind rustles treetops
an owl hunts for prey

Summer poems and stifling heat top the list out here on the trail; kind of nice to not mention the pandemic, politics or the police. I, of course, mentioned all three.

I’ll have to pop over and read for a dose of reality. 😊

In spite of present times, we’re reminded of the promise of the seasons with each poem this week. Much needed respite. Thank you.

At the beginning of a lazy summer afternoon to reach a crescendo to end the night. Wonderful sequence Linda!

You’ve captured the summer season beautifully, Linda. I especially love the wandering breeze lifting the brim of the hat – I can feel it! – and the cool wind rustling treetops. The owl is a bonus. 😊

What a great idea to sequence your haiku using the observations of a day. These are all so lovely. The first sequence happens to me each morning on my walk. LOL! ❤
