Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
“The possible’s slow fuse is lit by the Imagination.”
― Emily Dickinson
To look at the world with eyes of a child,
marveling at velvet wings of butterflies
as they float from flower to flower
Slurping sweet nectar
To while away long summer hours
searching for possibilities in wispy clouds
With ne’er a worry or care

Why do we forget how to do this as we get older? We do, and then we have to learn it all over again. A lovely poem 🦋

This sounds like a wonderful way to live… I am too concerned about everything that happens to be able to do this.

I think that’s true for many of us.

Loving the illustration and oh yes….to see the world through the eyes of a child…that innocence. So very sad that as we grow up and learn new things, we also lose this abilitiy.

As poets we cling to our inner child longer than most, and it assists us in ramping up our sense of wonder and innocence.

If only we continued to look at the world with eyes of a child, Linda, we might not be in the mess we’re in, worrying about whether there will be any butterflies to marvel at in the future, let alone possibilities.

Lovely, LInda. Not sure it happens now as it did then. My grandkids worry about things they shouldn’t have to. I wish kids could be free of those burdens while they are little.

We forget after we venture out of our cocoon, we see and perceive fear in the world… and then we don’t develop our exploring wings until later in life…..

When you can suspend all of that adult worry, you can have unfettered joy. Such a pleasant thought and worth the effort to make happen.

Innocence has its attraction. If only it could be held in reserve while facing a world that seems to take advantage of it.
