Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Fruity scent of purple iris dabs cool
morning air with heady perfume
as sword shaped jade leaves dance
with random grace to a melody
of lilting music whistling
through budding trees.
Sweetest song sung for eons of years
Have hope, for spring is here!

Oh… this is still so many months away… right now we have a lot of melting snow, and soon it will freeze over.

It’s chilly here, but not like your weather at all. Still I am dreaming of spring!

I love your quadrille, Linda, especially the ‘fruity scent of purple iris’ and the way it ‘dabs cool morning air with heady perfume’ – and I’m especially fond of poems that end with rhyming couplets!

This is incredibly gorgeous, Linda! 😀 I so love the image; “as sword shaped jade leaves dance with random grace to a melody of lilting music,”.. sigh .. Spring is almost here as well! 💝💝

I love the idea of spring’s arrival, albeit a way off yet, but this phrase “dance with random grace” a perfect description of the season.

I’d love a bit more spring in the air too. I can feel it already in your poem. Our irises don’t have any scent though.

Thank you Jane- many don’t. But there are some that do.

Around here old man Winter has only taken a few shaky steps so far. We’re bracing for the first lowland snow storm. Your poem circumnavigates what’s outside my window; thanks.

Lovely piece Linda and thanks for Irises painting. Browsing around for this prompt reminded me how radical and wonderful Vincent’s dabbing vision was.
