Today the Sun Refused to Shine

“Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love, they depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog, it merely expands the heart. If you have loved many dogs your heart is very big.”  – Erica Jong

Today the sun refused to shine for death came calling once more
Today the beautiful heavens cried for death is at our door

Today our lives forever changed for death is in the air
Today our tears are blurring sight for death is everywhere

Today though the clock keeps ticking death has stopped time
Today my heart is breaking for the sun refuses to shine

Today though you’re gone if I close my tear stained eyes
Today I can still pretend you are right here by my side

  1. Dear Linda, you’ve had such a difficult year. I still miss my Sugar and Spice, my beloved Pomeranians. Those little dog and cat souls stay with us forever. It breaks my heart at your loss. Just know that I think of you. Hugs and love. ❤
