#Diatelle: Rain

Rain
Drops, drifts
Slow and swift
Falls from on high
Spring mornings gentle shift
From a pastel aqua washed sky
As it whispers to seeds in lilting sighs
Rise up tender greens, pushing through earth’s dark terrain
Be brave, embrace this life throw fears aside
Sweet blooms tempting bees flying by
Amber honey, their gift
Naught can deny
Warm sun kissed
Soft;mist
Rain

  1. This is the first time I have come across this form and when I looked up the rules it seems complicated to write, but you have made it seem effortless with a lovely gentle flow of words!

  3. A delightful raindrop-shaped poem, Linda; it sparkles like one too. I particularly love the lines:
    ‘Spring mornings gentle shift
From a pastel aqua washed sky
As it whispers to seeds in lilting sighs’.
    My kind of morning.

  4. Oh this is absolutely lovely. And you make the form seem so effortless. It makes me long for gentle spring rains. Although I have to wait until the end om March beginning of April until that happens.

  7. A Diatelle poetry form with an even flow to be in line with the raindrops from above. It is structurally pleasing to the eyes. Thanks for the prompt Linda!

  10. Hi Linda, we just moved to AZ from sunny CA in the heart of agribusiness. To read this beautiful poem coming from the desert… We haven’t seen blooming here yet, and the name of our street is Blooming Hills. I can’t wait to see this promise you write about. It’s a beautiful poem and form. 🙂
