Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Don’t bother trying to find me
because I’ve gone away
I’ve run off to the country
to live out my remaining days.
I’ll walk a country road,
and pause by a babbling brook
I’ll laugh with a green toad
and read my favorite book.

That sounds lovely… it would make sense, but I’m afraid I would be bored quite quickly.

As long as nature surrounds me, I don’t think I would be.

This is so freeing and charming Linda. Reminded me of Elton John’s ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,’ a song I seem to be playing on repeat at the moment. Sounds like a happy retirement to me!

ah this was lovely – the rhymes too. Reminds me of the song ‘Gone fishin…instead of just a wishin”

This is great Linda! It reads like a Dr. Seuss book or a Silverstein poem. Your green toad made me smile!
