Lyin’, Dyin’, and Cryin’

This old beer joint is rockin’
and the jukebox keeps playin’
as we dance to favorite songs
kickin’ up sawdust and shufflin’
scuffed boots all night long
so we throw open wide the doors
while country crooners mourn
about a love that’s gone wrong

  3. i wonder if each generation laments over the next. Ha. You brought the juke joint a live with the sawdust spray as we spin round the hard boards. All that dance kicks up quite a heat, so throwing open those barn doors can be such a relief. “Shufflin scuffed” has a nice sound to it as well.!

  9. OMG…love that you posted a YouTube with the song on it here! Yep….this would be one of the “platters” on the juke box for sure! 🙂 Oh the memories!

  19. I have broken, and have been broken. Life hides daggers in every toga. A barn dance can certainly be a juke. I prefer the smell of hay to sawdust.
