With heavy eyes drifting away
floating on the stream of dreams
where bright sunshine warms her wrinkled face
and life is buoyant and carefree
No worries from the past as the present unfolds,
a glimpse through bright eyes of youth
behind eyes of old

  4. Linda, the idea that we are always young in our dreams is an encouraging one. The falling off to sleep floats us on a stream of dreams. Wonderful quadrille ❤

  5. Your “stream of dreams” is as verdant as a field of moist four leaf clovers, as dreamy as Nardia, a bite of Bardo. Thank the gods, muses and luck that our youth remains within, eager, happy to make a guest appearance when summoned.

  9. I can personally vouch for the fact that the “bright eyes of youth” still see behind the eyes of the old! My memories are as bright as if they were yesterday. Loved your poem.

  14. I felt like you wrote about me, Linda–but smiled when I thought of that warm sunshine which is surely the root cause of my wrinkled face. Aging finds its joy in thinking of good memories and creating new ones. I hope you are doing well.
