Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
“savor
with me
the lushness
of a lingering sleep…
and last night’s
dream.”
― Sanober Khan, Turquoise Silence
In dappled daylight~
where fallen leaves
mingle with velvet moss
Here, time is soft~
lingering in radiant warmth
of a gilded setting sun
Heartbeat in harmony~
with every inhale
healing cleansing breaths
This restless spirit slows~
amidst nature’s sweet sounds

Author’s Note: I’m hosting today at dVerse Poets Pub where we are writing a Quadrille containing the word “linger.” The pub opens at 3PM EST- Come join in the fun!

The whole poem is beautiful but I particularly like the 3rd stanza. Instant relaxation while reading it (and inhaling.)

Beautiful imagery: dappled daylight, velvet moss, which of course leads to softened time. So lush and serene.

Nature can be such a sweet and inspired Muse; certainly in your case it is. I appreciate where you went with this, pulling my focus away from the pandemic, immigration, white supremacy and corporate greed for a few precious moments; thanks.

perfect setting to linger! Somehow the word conjures up serenity, peace, calm … to linger we must slow right down and so many need that right now.
Thanks for a thought provoking prompt!

A beautiful sentiment, and a clever use of interior rhyme and alliteration to draw the reader through and into the scene.
