At my open window I sit and write
As white butterflies waltz in mid-air
Some say a symbol of souls alight
I bow my head and kneel in prayer
As white butterflies waltz in mid-air
I ponder on the dying and the living
I bow my head and kneel in prayer
Help me to be more loving, forgiving
I ponder on the dying and the living
As I watch the two fluttering in play
Help me to be more loving, forgiving
I’ll live my life in your soft embrace
As I watch the two fluttering in play
Some say a symbol of souls alight
I’ll live my life in your soft embrace
At my open window I sit and write.
