Sea of Qualm

Alone in a sea of qualm,
Struggling for precious air
Will they like what I write
Will anyone out there care?

As I pour out my soul
On parchment with pen
I want to make you feel
All I feel from within.
With pure selfish intent
I write with potent fervor
Hoping there are others
Who know the torment.
Of ever yearning to be
Among the swelling tribe
Of poets, artists, and scribes
Who are at last truly free.
