Love’s Gate

As I stand at love’s gate
With my heart in my hand
I ponder life’s true fate
Will he be the one man?

 
With my heart in my hand
To give wholly to him
Will he be the one man
Or is this simply a whim?

 

To give freely to him
A love pure and rare
Or is this simply a whim
Will he dare to care?

 
A love pure and rare
I ponder life’s true fate
Will he dare to care
As I stand at love’s gate?
