Across his threadbare sleeve
There are times better remembered
In blurred moments of rending grief.
Mottled patterns of graying dusk
For time is such a grievous thief
What’s left, but memories of youth
And inured moments of rending grief.
Thankful for the reminiscence
Recollections though faltering, brief
Holding onto adolescent futility
In tainted moments of rending grief.
