Fresh bloom is off this soul
whose colors have begun to fade
with petals crisp as parchment
no longer the fairest maiden.
poems of decaying flowers
weaves words mending a heart
beckoning Spring’s showers.
I simply LOVE this:
“Weathered old woman pens
poems of decaying flowers”

I’m hoping this is sort of the beginning of really being able to write poetry though.

I found this to be quite poignant–especially that weathered old woman with whom I identify. A beautiful way for her to savor memories and the life that gave them to her.

I like to think the rose pressed between pages is the fairest maiden captured along with her memories!
