Bloom

Fresh bloom is off this soul

whose colors have begun to fade

with petals crisp as parchment

no longer the fairest maiden.

Weathered old woman pens

poems of decaying flowers

weaves words mending a heart

beckoning Spring’s showers.

  1. “with petals crisp as parchment
    no longer the fairest maiden”

I’m hoping this is sort of the beginning of really being able to write poetry though.

  2. I like to think the rose pressed between pages is the fairest maiden captured along with her memories!
