Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing

Author’s note: This troiku is my response to Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #31 Troiku … “bare branches”. A troiku is three haiku, with each of the three lines from a suggested haiku as the first line of each haiku in the troiku.

As usual, I’m confused. I thought a haiku was 5-7-5, but the suggested haiku by Yozakura is 3-8-5. What am i missing? 😵

Hey Walt- I am not 100% certain, but I think it has to do with the Japanese to English translation. But yes, 5/7/5 is the standard, unless we deliberately choose to deviate.
