A Flash of Lust

Lust hastens in enticing your innocent heart
with grandiose plans of a lifetime to spend
A quickening of every move designed to prove its worth
with certainty you think, love must be close at hand
but lust is a disguise that only the wise can discern.
Like the sun’s brief flash sinking on the horizon, gone as fast,
or gold glimmers of summer fireflies, fading with morning light
and as all false pretenses of kindness fade from your sight,
you recognize him yet again as the prideful broken soul
longing to be whole, stealing your pure light from within.

Freely give him your pity and your prayers. It’s the only way to protect your light he’s greedily after.

This is why we need to be more careful. There’s a difference between love and lust and it’s difficult to decipher between them, but time and patience reveals everything, just like they say, “Wait and watch!”, lol.

Well said! You explained it very well. The forbidden fruit that ends up like the one who sang “I can’t get no satisfaction!”

Sometimes its hard to tell between lust and love, but in the end, hopefully we can discern what is true and what is false. I admire the way you describe the lost soul, specially the last line.

Nice sound and sense in this line: “but lust is a disguise that only the wise can discern.”
