Tattered Grey

I looked for you today, I thought I saw your face there
amongst the wintry clouds

But when I looked again, they became another memory covered
in tattered grey shrouds

Then came the ache of missing you, harsh as the brilliant sun shining through

And upon my soul ensued a mood the shade of indigo blue, tainting all I saw with a mournful hue
