Godspeed

Though friends may come into your life in moments when you’re happy and gay
The friends that come when you’re in need are those that tend to stay
For they are the ones who understand that life is about giving to others
And in truth we are one, for we are all sisters and brothers

So come my friends, let’s cheer in the winter of our lives
Come and raise a hearty glass with smiles softened by age
Come Rejoice to all, Godspeed as we turn the calendar page!

Bliss

To seek
with conviction
the bliss and wonder of
nature, meander through woodlands
Be still
sense the tranquil harmony as
mice scurry, rustling leaves
whoosh of owl’s wings
soaring

Arioso

I hear poetry …
in melodious notes of blue rain song
as emerald moss croons to the lonely stream
and shimmering fish dance in clear icy waters
— an arioso symphony–
When the white winter air clouds my warm breath
while grey doves huddle in the barren trees
and Northern Flickers peck, peck, peck
…I hear poetry

Cloud Shadows

Nebulous clouds shadow this day
Creating an aura of the unknown
Mystery abounds, as skeletal trees sway
Nebulous clouds shadow this day
Ponderously threatening, bleak and grey
The dank air cold, chills to the bone
Nebulous clouds shadow this day
Creating an aura of the unknown

Blue Wings

Sunburst by D. Trifiletti ($20)

I wear blue wings of a butterfly
in a silver ring upon my slender finger
for words to me are flowers,
waiting to blossom and bloom
Fluttering from nouns to verbs
discovering their precious nectar
in the vibrant garden of my thoughts
as crystal tears fall in blinding prism shafts
lighting the dazzling cerulean sky
of my windswept colorful mind
