Once we added the dimension of time to space, things got crazy. Plants went to war with giant bees, and flying monkeys stole the moon out of the sky. Night became day and down was up. All the clocks on planet earth went haywire with hands spinning backwards.
And now, this new creature has appeared and we can’t determine its exact species. His wingspan is 8 feet wide and appear to made of glowing iridescent crystal. As he flies, they refract light and send brilliant prisms into the atmosphere. He peers at us with gigantic purple eyes as his long thick body glides through the air with grace.
We look at him through the wrong end of the long telescope of time and ponder his presence. Is this magical creature here to save us, or does our fated death lie in his jagged mandibles?

“We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.”
― Plato
Light bending, shaping, flowing
into nicks and cracks of darkness impugned
Both an unrelenting wave of briny ocean
and a minuscule particle of dust
Drifting on nascent air of prophetic clarity
Stand Up, Stand Tall, Stand, Stand, Stand
I’m Speaking, I’m Speaking~ Can you hear me?
Light is here- NOW- a yearning for radiance
Broadcasting a reverberating shine
into tenebrous shadows of fleeing fear

Aphotic dreams are colder than death
Wishes, dangerous and electric
Glimpses into beclouded illusions
Keeping the old stories replaying
In dark portals of curtain drawn memories
Long forgotten symbolic signs
Such savage dreams, a paradoxical haze
Disappearing upon awakening

And lo, many a time death has called my name
But I’ve run from her haunting mournful call
Howling on raw wind, from the shallow grave
Wailing in harsh winter’s stagnant pall
Her face in shadows, wearing a gossamer caul
Begging to caress with bony white fingers
While fierce black hellhounds strain to maul
As a cloying odor of decay lingers
Carrying the stench of decomposed demise
Someday Hel will return, chortling with glee
No longer wearing pale death’s disguise
But rather, my own face peering at me.
