It Took Me
It Took Me

It took me
And my life is forever
Changed
Re-arranged
Into a myriad of different scenarios;
Will he love me
Forever
Will he stay by my side
Hold me close
Never leave
Never raise a hand in anger
Always understand
The person that I am
Cherish my complexity
respect me
Adore my womanliness
Let me be
All that I can?
It took me
Into a land
I thought I’d lost
A land of love
Beyond cost
That mere humans
Cannot understand
For it is only for the few
The Brave
The courageous ones among the weak
Who take a chance on love
Soulmates, lovers, forever entwined.
It took me
So here I stand
with my heart in your hands
You must understand
Loving you
Missing you
Wanting you
Waiting for you-
It took me.
