August, 1987
-Linda Lee Lyberg
I wait in the wings for my one true love
Grasping my memories near my heart
I want to shout to the heavens above
But my voice ends in silence before it starts.

For my love belongs to another
And he’s not yet mine
So my voice I must smother
And speak not of this love divine.

But soon I hope the curtains will rise
And I’ll emerge from the wings of darkness
I’ll stand in the lights and hold my head high
And sing of my love with gladness.
