Fading into the purple haze of blues
remembering your brown eyes laughing
Yearning for one more glimpse of you
dancing in Spring’s gentle rain
cleansing your aching soul

Nice thought of that lullaby of goodbye to pain.

It’s certainly how I’d like to go out- dancing in the rain and singing away!

It sounds to me like a wonderful eulogy. A lullaby of goodbye, singing away someone’s final breath seems very personal, and intense.

A beautiful rain lullaby to drift away to, Linda. I love the use of colour in the first stanza and the contrast of the ‘purple haze of blues’ and the laughing brown eyes, that makes your Quadrille so poignant. And then the rain to cleanse the aching soul like a sudden shower.

Lovely and touching quadrille. I also like the shape of the poem, like a raindrop about to fall. Thanks for sharing.

I feel the longing …for either a dear person lost or to embrace their joy of dancing in the rain when life is difficult. Beautiful no matter the interpretation.
